Twenty-eight days after a killer virus was accidentally unleashed from a British research facility, a small group of London survivors are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. Six months later, a group of Americans dare to set foot on the Isles, convinced the danger has passed. Following the events at home, the Abbott family now face the terrors of the outside world. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

The living dead have taken over the world, and the remaining humans live in a walled city to protect themselves as they cope with the situation.
