One familiar name can identify several films
Dune, The Experiment, Carrie, and The Little Mermaid each need a year when you want a particular production. A remake is not merely a sharper copy of the original. Compare the cast, country, and premise before deciding which entry you meant.
Production versus edition
A film production can have more than one viewing edition, such as a different dub or release cut. The title page identifies the production. The selected viewing offer tells you what edition is supplied. Do not infer an extended cut from a poster or assume a new release year belongs to the same production.
